HOW DO YOU KNOW YOUR LEARNING STYLE
Learning Style indicates the general way of a learning .Everyone has his/her own style of learning in a particular way and own perception to decide his style and technique basing on his interest and necessity. Learner adopts one or other learning style or mix of two or three in his/her learning. There is no only one fixed learning style. Every one can develop his ability in his learning style and further enrich his ability in his style of learning.

Learning is the modification of behavior brought about by experience. According to the Cognitive Psychologists, ‘learning is the study of how information is perceives through senses, stores, elaborated, and retrieved. Meta Cognition (Learning Learn) says about the reflection on experience. Humanistic approach insists on personal growth and development. Constructivists emphasize how people develop different conceptions and construction of reality. Several other theories view concentrate on their own style and neglect the other.
A learning style is a way that students respond to stimuli in the process of learning. It includes the traits of cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains influence learner attitude of learning. This includes how the learner perceives the knowledge in the natural environment or conditioned environment. It indicates ‘How’ the learner learns the concept in a particular environment.
Why it is important to know your learning style.
1.     To make a good co-ordination between Learning Style and Cognitive strength.
2.     To learn more easily.
3.     To develop more effective communication with others.
4.     To build sound Self esteem and Self confidence.
5.     To build better learning style.
6.     To create favorable learning environment and organizing suitable study material.
7.     To make learning more enthusiastic.
8.     To recognize strengths to provide reinforcement.
9.     To offer support and encouragement.
10.             To learn the learner’s disability.
It is also important to learn the learner’s disabilities also. It is necessary to read or learn about your child or learners disabilities. Either the parents or the learner has to find out how the disability affects learning process and what cognitive skills are involved in this process. Learner’s disability can be determined in this process. Search for treatments for remedies to overcome the processing disorders It is top most need to understand the coping skills to over come the problem. The school management some times may neglect the problematic students. But parents can’t neglect it. They have to continue their trails to solve the problems of their child and continue treatment at home for the disorder. They can pursue the various options in the house. The parents can try different alternatives in the home only. It may give best results.
11.            To nurture the learners strengths
12.             To teach strategies to encounter Social and Emotional problems. Learning disabilities frustrates the learner in many places. So there is need to learn coping skills to encounter the problem.
13.             To make him believe as a strong learner. Try to find solutions to overcome the problem as early as possible.
14.            Some times learner unable to think clearly, concentrate and remember new information. Yet times their self confidence begin to fade out and their relationships with peers, teachers, parents and others start to deteriorate. They learner begin to suspect their abilities and their surroundings around them. They begin to loose their hope.
15.             Make the learner knows the difference between Academic goals and cognitive skills. Academic Skills include knowledge about different subjects like Literature, Mathematics, and History. Cognitive Skills indicates mental capabilities they need to learn academic issues. Cognitive Skills helps to think, read, understand, remember, plan and organize.

  1. Thanks,for sharing your views.Both teaching and learning are important areas,in education.If there is a good teacher,good student,naturally,the student comes,out with distinction.But,when a student is dull,a teacher,does not teach well,failure is sure.

Thanks for sharing your opinions.The 14th point is an important one.In the similar passion,comparing one student's skill with that of others too may depress the feelings of a student and a chance of getting developed rivalry too can not be denied.Any thing MAY HAPPEN in that emotion.Therefore I Personally feel,the Examination results too should not be disclosed in the class room (At least up to certain age)and arrangements are required to make that the result directly reach parents (By post or any other possible mode). How ever,I do completely agree with the opinion of Mr.Mihra.
